Since my mom’s diagnosis of stomach cancer, I’ve revisited a childhood hobby of jewelry crafting as a way to pass the hours in the hospital.
I started giving jewelry as gifts to friends, family and colleagues. I even made jewelry for my mom’s nurses to thank them for taking such wonderful care of her during long hospital stays.
During this difficult time, making jewelry has become “craft therapy” for me. Now I’m hoping it will also help contribute to the worthy cause of cancer research. All proceeds from my jewelry sales will be donated to the Siteman Cancer Center’s Discovery Fund.
